Newsletter 03/11/2010: Pete talks to Gravity Free Radio!

pete_newsletterGreetings!

So, how do you benefit from brand extensions through licensing?

Well, if you are a manufacturer, you gain instantaneous recognition, authenticity and credibility.  With an outstanding product, this means new customers or more sales to existing customers.  Having a known brand on your products gives you access to new distribution channels and even the ability to enter new regions.

For brand owners, licensing enables you to extend your brand into new categories faster and with less investment.  It also provides valuable marketing support and trademark protection.  Moreover, the company will benefit from royalty revenue most of which goes directly to your bottom line.

There are not too many opportunities today that offer so much.

Sincerely,
Pete Canalichio

Pete talks to Gravity Free Radio!

Gravity_Free_RadioWe were joined in the studio by Pete Canalichio who is an expert on licensing which is a very interesting business topic. We both learned a lot about what big brands are looking for in a licensee and vice versa.  He also talked about how to balance your private products with your licensed products. Pete is heading off to Vancouver soon where he is working with Coca-Cola's their licensing program with the Vancouver Organizing Committee.

Definitely a very interesting show so if you have any questions about strategic planning or licensing, listen to this one! Listen to the full podcast at http://gravityfreeradio.com/archives/date/2010/01
